Nominations Open for I Love My Librarian Award

Marketing and Communications | August 10, 2011

If your learning, teaching or research experience has been enriched by a librarian at the Texas A&M University Libraries, nominate your favorite for the I Love My Librarian Award.

Sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA), with support from Carnegie Corporation of New York and The New York Times, the award recognizes exceptional librarians in academic, public and school libraries who have an impact on the learning process and demonstrate leadership in the campus community.

Up to ten winners from more than 122,000 libraries nationwide will be selected to receive a $5,000 cash award, a plaque and $500 travel stipend to attend an awards reception in New York hosted by The New York Times.

“We think our librarians do an outstanding job in providing customized service to our users, and we encourage students, faculty and staff to nominate their special librarian,” Charles Gilreath, interim dean of the University Libraries, said.

Nominations for 2011 stay open through Sept. 12.
