Libraries and Health Science Center Offer “GIS & Health” Seminar

A free seminar, “GIS & Health,” will be offered by Texas
A&M University Libraries and the Texas A&M Health Science Center’s School of Rural
Public Health (SRPH) on Friday, Feb. 24th, 3-5 p.m. The live presentation will
be take place at SRPH’s Classroom Building Room 108. It will also be available as a live webinar

The seminar will explain how GIS (Geographic Information Systems) can be used to support health research and practice. No previous experience with GIS is required.
Presenters include Scott Horel, SRPH’s GIS program coordinator; Suzanne Shurtz, instructional services librarian at the Medical Sciences Library; Miriam Olivares, GIS coordinator; and Laura Sare, government information librarian, at the Libraries.
