    The Texas A&M University System and The University of Texas System will open their Joint Library Facility at Texas A&M's Riverside Campus with a ribbon cutting on Friday, May 24, 2013.

    F1000Research, a new open access journal for biology and medicine, offers rapid publication time and transparent review process.
2-6-13   Patsy Nichols Memorial Award Honors Student Workers
    The Libraries recently established the Patsy Nichols Memorial Student Opportunity Award to recognize outstanding student workers.
2-4-13   Couple Makes Major Gift for Library Preservation
    The Libraries will launch a preservation program with a gift from Susan '74 and William R. Ouren '74.
1-29-13   Apply for Cushing-Glasscock Award
    Apply now for the Cushing-Glasscock Award which supports projects of graduate students in the humanities. One or two awards of up to $2000 will be made.

    The Libraries will showcase the Book and Printing History Collection of Loran T. Laughlin ’26 at an exhibit opening and lecture in Cushing Library.

    Certain library services including circulation information will be affected by the system upgrade Jan. 6-11.
12-18-12   Libraries Begin Holiday Closing Hours Dec. 21
    The Libraries will shift to adjusted hours for the holidays at the various libraries Dec. 21-Jan. 2.
12-7-12   George R. R. Martin Exhibit to Open Mar. 21-22
    The Cushing Library will celebrate the George R. R. Martin exhibit, "Deeper Than Swords," lecture and related events Mar. 21-22. Martin will attend all events and deliver a lecture following the exhibit opening. Tickets are required for all events.
12-5-12   Recall Suspension Begins after Dec. 10
    The Libraries will be unable to recall books after Dec. 10, 2012 until Jan. 14, 2013.
11-28-12   Enjoy Beverages, Study Pets and More During Finals
    Students can find hot chocolate, comfortable study space, pet buddies and more at various campus libraries during finals.
11-14-12   Libraries to Close for Thanksgiving
    All libraries will close for Thanksgiving. Hours will vary during the holiday weekend.

    Texas A&M University Libraries, along with partners from campus and the local community, will celebrate GIS Day 2012 Tuesday, Nov. 13 and Wednesday, Nov. 14.
11-5-12   WCL to Celebrate Makeover Nov. 16
    The Libraries will host a ribbon cutting and reception at West Campus Library to celebrate the completion of building renovations. The event will take place from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16.
10-29-12   Shakespeare Exhibit Comes to Medical Sciences Library
    The National Library of Medicine's traveling exhibit on Shakespeare and the four humors is on display at the Medical Sciences Library until Dec. 1. Dr. Nancy Warren, head of the Department of English, will speak on "The Humors and the Humanities: Shakespeare, Medicine, and the Intersection of Science and Art" during the exhibit opening and reception at 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12.
10-17-12   Cushing Library Participates in Mellon Foundation Grant to University
    Texas A&M University has received a two-year development grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation for an interdisciplinary effort that includes Cushing Memorial Library & Archives.
10-16-12   Map & GIS Library Launches Mapping Historic Aggieland
    Former Students and others can revisit Aggieland through an interactive digital collection that features historical maps and photos of the campus and buildings.

9-28-12   Map & GIS Library to Offer Training on Census Data Resources
    Map & GIS Library is offering two free training sessions on “Census Data Resources for GIS Users” Oct. 26 and 30. Registration is required and seating is limited. Prior GIS knowledge is a prerequisite.
9-18-12   Medical Sciences Library to Celebrate Bold New Spaces
    The University Libraries will host a ribbon cutting and reception to celebrate the renovations at the Medical Sciences Library on Thursday, Sept. 27 from 4-6 p.m.

    The Texas A&M University Libraries will be welcoming a new dean, David H. Carlson, effective July 1, 2012.
6-20-12   Libraries Copy Cards Will Expire Dec. 31
    Copy card users at the Libraries are advised to limit the amount they place on their cards, as the cards will expire Dec. 31. Refunds for excess amounts will not be available.

    Texas A&M University and The University Of Texas System are collaborating on a joint library storage facility. The 18,000-square-foot library facility will be constructed at Texas A&M’s Riverside Campus.
