African and African American Islam

Selected Resources in Cushing Library & Archives

The resources listed here represent the varied   scholarship by and about Muslim people of the African Diaspora. Diaspora is defined as the scattering of people away from their homeland, in this instance the homeland of Africa. The African Diaspora includes North America, the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, Asia, India and Africa.  This list represents a small portion of materials related to Islam and the African Diaspora available in Cushing Memorial Library. The collection houses additional resources on Islam in America and throughout the world. We encourage you to come, read, research, and study the resources available on the history and culture of Islam and Muslim people.
