Articles and Databases
ERIC (Ebsco)
The ERIC database, the world’s largest source of education information, provides access to more than 1 million abstracts of education-related documents. Education documents, identified by unique ED numbers, cover a wide variety of resources, including teaching guides, dissertations, research reports, conference proceedings, instructional materials, monographs, government documents and bibliographies. Access to education documents is made available in microfiche (2nd floor Evans Library in Course Reserves and Current Periodicals) or online through one of the vendor databases. Journal articles, identified by EJ numbers, are also abstracted in the ERIC database. Some journal articles may be available full text online through vendor databases; some articles must be found in the print version of the particular journal.
Education Full Text
Education Full Text provides access to articles from English-language periodicals and yearbooks. Articles are indexed (citation information only, coverage begins in 1982), abstracted (citation information plus a short summary of the article, coverage begins in 1994), or full text online (coverage begins in 1996).
Professional Development Collection
The Professional Development Collection is a specialized collection of over 550 full text journals designed for the professional educator. It includes over 350 peer-reviewed titles. Full text coverage of some journals dates back to 1965.
