ENTO 481W - Seminar

Class Guide

Indexes to the literature, of any field, contain citations that are relevant to that field.  Selecting the right index is the first step in getting only relevant citations.

Searching indexes takes some knowledge and thought.  You may need to try more than one term and search only one concept at a time until you find the right words.  One concept would be "mosquitoes" not "mosquitoes and malaria" (two concepts). To find the right terms for any index (and they may be different in another index) use keywords to find some citations, then look at the subject headings.  Using the words in the subject headings field will help you find more related citations.

Use "and" to get both concepts.
Use "or" to get either concept.

When you find a citation of interest use the button marked "SFX" or "Find@TAMU". This will do a search to see if we have the article in electronic format.  If not, you can find it in the library or request if from Get it for me.

Suggested indexes for this class:

AGRICOLA
