Information Technology Associate

Work under general direction of the department head or his/her designate. Responsible for technical support and applications development relevant to Public and Research Services with maintenance, updating and monitoring of existing systems (including but not limited to Voyager,  SearchDesk).  Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures; review standard practices for opportunities to enhance services, simplify processes, use resources more efficiently, or collaborate with others.

Provide customer support and troubleshooting for public services using technology (wireless, laptops, Public PC logon, etc); meet with customers and technical staff to determine information needs and requirements; ensure that all work is accurate and in compliance with departmental or project quality standards; participate in training and professional development sessions.
Collaborate with Library Systems and other technical services as needed, assisting them as requested with organization-wide or unit-specific problems; seek the help of other IT staff to resolve complex technical issues; assist in educating unit staff on virus protection, backup and responsible computing; keep aware of IT services and call on these resources when appropriate.

Create and update Public and Research Services informational web pages and Intranet using the content management system, word processing and html editing software. Provide web-based access to unit-specific operational information.
