Cushing Memorial Library was the first free-standing library on campus, and was built in 1930. It now houses Special Collections and the Texas A&M University Archives. It also houses numerous research collections, including the Science Fiction and Fantasy Research Collection, Literary Manuscripts, Military History, Africana and Hispanic Studies, Texana, and much more.
