Access to Evans Library Annex Fourth Floor To Be Altered Starting Spring Break
Media and Reserves Desk Will Still Be Operational
COLLEGE STATION (March 9, 2017) – On March 13th, Texas A&M University Libraries will begin moving into the next phase of ReImagine construction. This will affect the fourth floor of the Sterling C. Evans Library Annex, and will initially involve shutting off access to study spaces and rooms on the floor. Access to the Media and Reserves Desk and the skywalk connecting Evans Library and the Annex will still be open for a few more weeks.
“This next phase is going to encompass the entire 4th floor of the Annex and create totally new multipurpose, active learning spaces with a huge number of electrical outlets and a facility designed to actively engage in preserving our collections for future users.” explained Pixey Mosley, Associate Dean for Administrative and Faculty Services at the Texas A&M University Libraries.
In the two weeks following Spring Break, the Annex 1st floor will reopen and 4th floor services will begin relocating into the remodeled space. Once Media and Reserves services are fully functional in their new location on the 1st floor, the entire Annex 4th floor will be closed off for construction. Skywalk access between Evans and the Annex will be closed for students, and limited to authorized library and construction personnel.
As specific dates come available for the opening of the 1st floor service desk and closing the Skywalk access, they will be shared immediately. Throughout the ReImagine campaign the Libraries will be sharing updates and notifications through social media and through the library website http://library.tamu.edu/reimagine/
