Celebrate Constitution Day 2017 at the University Libraries

Constitution Day is officially celebrated each year on September 17 and is set aside as a day to celebrate our nation’s primary governing document. This year, the Texas A&M University Libraries will celebrate Constitution Day on Monday, September 18, 2017 in Evans Library. From 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, a table will be set up in the front hallway of Evans where students can write quick notes on what the Constitution means to them. Free copies of the Constitution will be available.

“The Constitution is our charter of liberty,” noted Laura Sare, Government Information Librarian. “As drafted, the Constitution's purpose was to create a government that had enough power to act on a national level, but without so much power that individuals' fundamental rights would be at risk.”
