New services welcome back students

Welcome Back

The summer was anything but boring here at the Texas A&M University Libraries. New services and existing ones were improved just for you.

New look

The first floor reference space in Evans Library has been transformed into a reading room. The room has temporarily furnishings from the Memorial Student Center (MSC) Flag Room. Plans call for new permanent furnishings in the spring as part of Reimagine the Library, a year-long redesign.

Full Service Desk

To provide users with one-stop service, the reference and checkout desks have been combined. The “full-service” desk is located at the front of the Evans lobby.

Media and Reserves

Education Media Services (EdMS) and Course Reserves have merged to become Media and Reserves. The newly formed unit is located in the previous EdMS space on the 4th floor of the Library Annex.

With the new online Course Reserves system, faculty can set up course reserves, like books and chapters online and audio and visual materials. For assistance, faculty can contact Linda Bair at 979-845-2316 or l-bair@tamu.edu.

Extended hours

The Library Annex 5th and 6th floors will be open 24/5 at the beginning of the fall semester, in tandem with other parts of the Annex.

Get it for me

The University Libraries’ popular service for interlibrary loan and document delivery, deliverEdocs, has a new name, Get it for me. Users will need to re-register with their University NetID, but will still have access to their old records. Faculty will now have the option of receiving print materials via campus mail.

Visit any of the five libraries on campus and learn how our unique services, study rooms, and access to technology can help you succeed in your studies.
