Visit Electronic Resources Fair in Zachry Engineering Center Sept. 23

The University Libraries is hosting an Electronic Resources Fair on Wednesday, September 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 pm. in the Zachry Engineering Center lobby. Students, faculty and researchers in science and engineering are encouraged to visit with librarians and vendors.

“We want students, faculty and researchers in science and engineering to discover more about the numerous electronic resources available through the library. Several vendors of these databases and services will be present to demonstrate how they work,” explained Sandy Tucker, head of science, engineering and liaison services.  “Our librarians will also be there to spread the word about our services and offer assistance,” she added.

According to Jane Stephens and Pauline Melgoza, science and engineering librarians who organized the fair, food and prizes will be provided.  Two textbook scholarships valued at $250 each and flash drives will be given away in a drawing. Vendors will also have giveaways.

Vendors with tables include IEEE (engineering) Thompson (Web of Science), Ebsco (publisher), SAE (engineering), Elsevier (science publishing), Taylor (engineering resources), Knovel (electronic books in science and engineer), Safari (computer and technology books), IET/INSPEC (science and engineering), OVID (science and medicine), Scifinder (chemistry and chemical engineering), and Proquest (science and engineering, theses and dissertations).
