How to Use Search Now

Search Now is a search engine that you can use to find articles, books, citation databases, electronic journals, and electronic books owned or subscribed to by the Libraries and licensed for use by Texas A&M University affiliates.

To search for articles/books using the Search Now Portlet on the library homepage:

  1. Enter keyword search terms into the search box

  2. Choose your Topic Set using the “Choose topic” dropdown list

  3. Click “Submit”

OR

  1. Click “More Search Options” to go directly to Search Now and explore more search features

To find articles using an individual database or e-journal:

  1. Select either the “Indexes/Databases” or “EJournals” Tab
  2. Type name of database (e-g. Academic Search Complete) or ejournal in the search box

The search for electronic journals and electronic books usually includes the full/comprehensive contents of the book and journals (indicated by a blue star for journals).  In addition, Search Now provides access to the electronic journals included in the aggregator databases (e.g., Ebsco’s Academic Search Complete and Wilson's Omnifile), which usually includes selected, not comprehensive, coverage of the journal.

Click the Find Electronic Resources folder on the Library Tutorials page to find tutorials to help you use Search Now.

Use the Help option on the database or online journal site for assistance in finding articles and other materials.
