Study Spaces

Study Areas

The Libraries have designated group study areas and quiet study areas to accommodate different study styles. Please respect these designations to allow your fellow students the opportunity to excel academically.

Group Study Rooms

Group Study Rooms are available at the West Campus Library, Medical Sciences Library, and the Evans Library/Library Annex complex.  Click on the appropriate link for detailed information about room use and making reservations.

Individual Study Rooms

Twenty individual quiet study rooms and four Group Study Rooms in Evans Library are also available on a first-come/first-served basis and require that the key get checked out from the Evans Circulation Desk.

Assigned Study Carrels

Study carrels are available in Evans Library for faculty involved in a research project and for graduate students preparing a thesis or dissertation. Carrels consist of a chair and desk.  They do have electrical connections but are not hard wired for Internet access.  There is no charge for a carrel but they must be checked out from the Evans Circulation Desk. The check out period for a carrel is 3 months, renewable up to 3 years.  Specific guidelines governing the use of carrels are available from Evans Library Circulation.

Closed study carrels are available to professional and graduate students in the Colleges of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine and the School of Rural Public Health for a one-semester period. Carrels consist of a chair and desk.  They do have electrical connections but are not hard wired for Internet access.  Specific guidelines governing the use of carrels are available from the Medical Sciences Library Circulation Desk or by clicking HERE.
