Some books in the collection have check out restrictions based on where they are located. Ask at a service desk for more information.
- Cushing Library materials must be used in the Cushing Library Reading Room
- Architecture Library materials must be checked out at the College of Architecture Technical Reference Center
- Qatar, Bodrum, Santa Chiara library resources are located outside the US and are only available to their on-site users
How to Set Up a Proxy User
- The Faculty/Staff member can bring the authorization form/letter to the Circulation Desk at the Evans Library or West Campus Library in person, have someone else deliver it, or send it through campus mail.
- If the letter is not delivered by the Faculty/Staff member, the library will delay activation until a library Staff member can contact the Faculty/Staff member and verify the proxy authorization.
- Faculty/Staff wanting to set up long-term proxy authorizations must still renew the authorization annually.
- The authorization letter should contain the following information
1. Faculty/Staff member’s name
2. The Faculty/Staff member’s UIN
3. The name and UIN (if available) of the individual being added to the Faculty/Staff member’s account
4. A signed statement of acknowledgment of the Faculty/Staff member’s responsibility for books checked out and fines accrued via the Proxy User option
5. Length of authorized use for the designated proxy

OCLC Card
OCLC is a non-profit, library support organization designed to improve access sharing across libraries worldwide.Texas A&M University is a member.
OCLC cards can be used at other participating libraries around the country to check out materials on-site for research needs. Individual libraries set their own guidelines pertaining to how many items can be checked out and for how long.

TexShare is a program of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission in partnership with academic and public libraries in Texas.
It can be used at other libraries in the state to check out materials for research and study needs. Individual libraries set their own guidelines pertaining to how many items can be checked out and for how long.
Affiliated TAMU library users can obtain a TexShare card at the Evans Library Circulation Desk (phone 979-845-3731) or Medical Sciences Library Client Services Center (phone 979-845-7428).
