Other Guidelines for Electronic Reserves
Electronic reserves services are limited to the TAMU community (faculty, staff, and students).
All use of materials placed on electronic reserve will be at the initiative of faculty solely for the non-commercial, educational use of students.
Whenever possible, the Libraries will purchase materials to be copied.
Complete or longer excerpts of books will not be copied for electronic reserve.
For paper copies submitted for scanning, there can be no holes and no staples. Please submit clean, first-generation copies with NO BLACK MARGIN OR CENTER STRIPE, 8.5" x 11" only with one-half inch margin on all 4 sides.
Please include a complete bibliographic citation.
Identify items in the same manner as in your syllabus. If you wish to attach a URL to the electronic reserves course materials, use this link to go through the IP based authentication system. The URL is http://ereserves.tamu.edu/eres/ Do not attempt to provide students with links within the ERes system at an individual course or document level.
There will be no charge for access to electronic reserves. The charge for copies made by students on library laser printers will be the same as for all other self-service library printing and photocopying
Copyright notice will appear on the screen in the online reserves system and on copies of copyrighted materials made for reserve reading to indicate that copyright law covers the materials.
Materials on electronic reserve are searchable by instructor, department prefix, course number, and department name.
Electronic files will be removed from the course access when they are no longer used for reserve services.
The library will follow the principles of Fair Use when placing materials on reserve.
