University Libraries Services Course Reserves Placing materials on Reserve

Placing materials on Reserve

Information for placing material on Reserve through the Evans Library, West Campus Library, and Policy Sciences & Economics Library

Submitting Reserve Lists

Please use the Reserve Request Form to list all materials to be placed on reserve for each term. The form is also available at the appropriate Reserves Service desk. The information on the Reserve Request Form is needed for print and electronic materials.

Reserve materials are available only for the semester in which the class is taught. Faculty members may not request that Reserves/E-Reserves provide access to copies of the same material for successive terms unless copyright permission is obtained.

For large classes where more than one copy of a title is needed, a limited number of paper copies may be made available consistent with fair use and copyright provisions.

To allow sufficient time for acquiring and processing materials, please submit the reserves list for each course at least 4 weeks before the start of the term. Please allow at least 7 days before assigning materials that have been submitted for reserve once classes have begun. If new books or additional copies are needed, please submit the request 8 to 10 weeks before the start of the term.

For materials added during the semester, items will be placed on reserve within 72 hours unless there is a problem with the material.
