Placing Materials on Reserve
Please use the Course Reserves System to add and manage your course reserve materials. (See Instructor Options for Course Reserves System.)
Contact the staff at the Media & Reserves desk on the 4th floor of the Library Annex or call (979) 845-4833 to set up an instructor account if you do not already have one.
Print Reserves Guidelines | Electronic Reserves Guidelines
Reserve materials are available only for the semester in which the class is taught. Faculty members may not request that Reserves provide access to copies of the same material for successive terms unless copyright permission is obtained.
For large classes where more than one copy of a title is needed, a limited number of paper copies may be made available consistent with fair use and copyright provisions.
To allow sufficient time for acquiring and processing materials:
- Please submit the reserves list for each course at least 4 weeks before the start of the term.
- Please allow at least 7 days before assigning materials that have been submitted for reserve once classes have begun. If new books or additional copies are needed, please submit the request 8 to 10 weeks before the start of the term.
- For materials added during the semester, items will be placed on reserve within 72 hours unless there is a problem with the material.
When placing items on reserve:
- Include the full bibliographic citation for published works
- Specify the loan period for each item (e.g. 1-hour, 2-hours, 4-hours, 24-hours, 3-days, or 7-days)
- Identify items in the same manner as in your syllabus
- Paper copies submitted for print reserves or for scanning into an
electronic format:
- should be on 8.5" x 11" paper
- contain no holes or staples
- have at least a one half inch margin on all 4 sides
