Data Sharing and Preservation

Data repositories allow researchers to share data on platforms that make the data discoverable, and citable by other researchers. Repositories provide the additional benefit of long-term archiving for data that are shared publicly or with collaborators.

The Office of Scholarly Communications supports researchers seeking to make data open and accessible in data repositories by providing access to the Texas Data Repository, and consultations for identifying appropriate disciplinary data repositories.

The Texas Data Repository (TDR)

TDR is the Texas A&M University institutional data repository, made available to researchers by the University Libraries. It is:

  • Flexible online platform for individual researchers, labs, and groups
  • Publishes and archives datasets and data products
  • Meets data sharing and preservation requirements from funding agencies and publishers
