Services Information A-Z

  • Most of the Libraries services are offered remotely.
  • We have limited on-site services available.
  • Please see Visit & Study for information about access to the buildings.
  • Books stacks are closed to the public. Please use the No-Contact Pick-up service to receive print materials.
  • Courtesy and community borrowing is unavailable. More updates regarding non-affiliate services can be found in our FAQs.

  • Access off campus and EZproxy

    You can access all of the Libraries online resources from off campus.

  • AskUs

    Libraries help and consultations are predominantly remote and virtual for the spring. There will be staff at the Libraries to answer questions but they are limited to 10 minutes before we’ll ask you to schedule a remote consultation.

  • Assistive Technology Room

    The Assistive Technology Room in Evans will be available on a first-come-first-served basis. Ask at the AskUs desk for access to the room.

  • Check-out and Returns / No Contact Delivery

    The stacks are currently closed. All requests for print items must be made online and can be picked up at either Evans or MSL through no contact delivery. Faculty office delivery is also available.

    We are not currently lending high-turnover items including laptops, equipment, whiteboard markers, CDs, and print course reserves.

    To return print items, interlibrary loan items, DVDs, Blu-rays, and CDs, please use the bookdrops. To return equipment, please take the item(s) to the AskUs desk in Evans.

  • Citation Management (styles/tools)

  • Copyright

    The Libraries are not able to offer copyright consultations for the Spring 2021 semester.

  • Course Reserves (print/electronic/media)

    For Spring semester, materials on reserve will be made available in electronic format only to support a hyflex teaching environment. The Libraries will attempt to license ebooks, as well as digitize print material where possible to meet instructor needs.

    Instructors:
    Please note that many publishers will not sell e-Textbooks to Libraries. Learn more about the state of the textbook industry and Libraries. Contact our OASES team to discuss OER options for your course. 

  • Curriculum Collection

    Items can be requested through no contact delivery. For assistance, please contact Ashlynn Kogut.

  • Cushing Collections Access - Currently Unavailable 

    Access to the collections held by Cushing Memorial Library & Archives are predominantly filled through digitization but appointments can be made to view items. Exhibit viewing is first come, first served, but appointments can be made.

  • Digitized Collections and OAKTrust

  • eCampus and Canvas Integration

    The Libraries are currently integrated into eCampus. We are not yet integrated into Canvas.

  • Equipment Checkout

    Equipment including laptops, cameras, projectors, and whiteboard markers are not available for checkout.

  • Exhibits at Cushing

    Exhibit viewing is first come, first served, but appointments can be made.

  • Fit Bikes (Evans/BLCC)

    Fit Bikes are not currently available.

  • Get It For Me (interlibrary loan/faculty delivery/paging)

    Get It For Me is available but interlibrary loan will be limited based upon worldwide lending practices.

  • GIS

    The Libraries can assist with GIS data and data collections.

  • Government Documents

    The Libraries is a congressionally designated depository for U.S. Government documents. The print collection is closed to browsing by patrons but we can still assist you remotely, please contact Laura Sare to learn more.

  • Graduate and Professional Study Spaces 

    Evans
    The graduate student study areas are not currently available.

    MSL
    The GPS Zone is not currently available.

  • K-12 School Visits

    School visitors services will not be offered for the Spring 2021 semester.

  • Library Instruction

    The Libraries instruction sessions and services are predominately remote or virtual for Spring 2021. Our librarians, curators, and instructional staff have increased course support through online class guides, tutorials, and asynchronous instruction methods.

  • Maps

    Access to the maps collection will be predominantly filled through digitizations but appointments can be made to view the items.

  • Microforms

    The microform machine on the first floor of Evans will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please contact AskUs about access to materials.

  • Movies and CDs Check-out

    Movies and CDs are not available for check out.

  • OAL Computers

    OAL Computers are available at all locations with social distancing protocols in place. Please see the OAL website for all up-to-date information.

  • Online Resources and Search

    All online resources are available.

  • Open Access and OER Support

    The Libraries have several initiatives for the support of open access and OER adoption. These services are offered predominantly remotely for Spring 2021.

  • Patent and Trademark Resource Center

    The Patent and Trademark Resource Center services are offered predominantly remotely for Spring 2021.

  • Prayer and Meditation Room

    Evans
    The Prayer and Meditation Room on the 5th floor of Evans is not currently available.

    BLCC
    The prayer and meditation room at BLCC is not currently available.

  • Printing, Scanning, and Copying

    Printers, scanners, and copiers are available at all open locations. Please practice social distancing when using this equipment.

    Research Data Management services are offered predominantly remotely for Spring 2021.

  • Scholarly Communications

    Scholarly communication services are offered predominantly remotely for Spring 2021.

  • Scholars@TAMU

  • Study Carrels (Evans)

    If you already have a study carrel assigned to you, you may continue to use your study carrel. Keep important material in your possession and not in your carrel this semester in case access to the building is restricted due to unforeseen circumstances. We are not currently accepting new requests for study carrels.

  • Study Rooms

    Group and Individual study rooms are not currently available for reservations. All study rooms are closed for group and individual use. Please see our FAQ for more details.

  • Subject Specialists

    Subject specialists are available for research consultation, library instruction, and collection development. All services are offered predominantly remotely for Spring 2021.

  • Suggest a purchase

  • Systematic Reviews

    Systematic review services and support are offered predominantly remotely for Spring 2021.

  • The Studio

    Students
    Access to The Studio is not available for students. Virtual consultations are available to students who need consultation assistance with multimedia projects and tools such as Camtasia, Garage Band, Audacity, and more.
