Honoring Don Kelly’s gift of his extensive LGBTQIA+ collection to Cushing Memorial Library & Archives, the Don Kelly Collection Fellowship/Internship Endowment has been established in the University Libraries.

William P. Brown established an endowment to fund a fellowship for scholarly research focusing on LGBTQIA+ collections such as the Don Kelly Research Collection and/or to fund an internship for students to assist in the processing of the Kelly Collection. The endowment is intended to make the Kelly Collection and other LGBTQIA+ collections more discoverable and accessible for research.

In addition to the creation of this endowed fund, a current gift was also made to support a fellowship or student internship for 2022.

Francesca Marini, Co-chair of the Don Kelly Research Collection Fellowship program said that the University Libraries is grateful to Mr. Brown for his forethought and generosity.

“We are grateful and proud to receive such wonderful support that will nurture the work of current and future generations dedicated to inclusivity and representation,” said Marini.
