Exporting Movies Back to a VHS Tape

Workstation: DVE and VCR

Exporting a movie back to a VHS tape needs only three easy steps: insert the clips, preview it, hit the RECORD button on VCR and then hit the PLAY button on the preview window. No need to do any conversions. The following instructions assume that the user has just turned on the PC. If you are already in the editing process, skip Step 1- 4.

STEP 1: Turn on the PC. Main menu > EdMS DVE. A Window like this pops up. Click on Ulead Video Editor (the one indicated by the red arrow).

STEP 2: A template window shows up. Hit OK to continue.

STEP 3: Ulead's Construction Window appears.

On this window, the upper timelines (VA. VB etc.) are for videos, the lower timelines (Aa, Ab..A3) are for audios. FX is for adding TRANSITIONS. The Insert Video Clip button (indicated by the red arrow) is where you insert your clips

STEP 4: Press the Insert Video Clip button to get your clip(s)

Select the clip, then press OPEN. This will load the clip to the CONSTRUCTION window. When you move the mouse, you will see two black tracks following the movement of the mouse. To release the clip, point your mouse to the very left side of VA timeline, and then left click the mouse. The video and sound files will be dropped to VA and Aa tracks respectively.

STEP 5: View > Preview Option > Best View > OK, and then click on PREVIEW. Wait until the preview rendering is complete.

STEP 6: Insert a blank tape into VCR. Press REC (VCR record) button, then press PLAY button on the Preview window. Press STOP when done.
