The Historic Press Room at Texas A&M University is open for students, faculty, staff, and members of the public to learn about historic book-making processes. Visitors can learn to set wood and metal type by hand, make and decorate paper, illustrate books, cast type, and print on a wide range of printing presses. The Press Room supports hands-on scholarship in all areas of book history as well as creative projects. Introduction to Letterpress Workshop
Learn how to set wood and metal type by hand and print on a historic printing press. Students can expect to create business cards, greeting cards, bookmarks, or other small keepsakes. No experience is necessary, but registration is required.

The Book History Workshop
This five-day workshop, limited to 20 students, provides an intensive, hands-on introduction to the history of books and printing. The workshop is intended for librarians, archivists, students, teachers, collectors, and private individuals who have an interest in the first three and a half centuries of the printed book.
