By exploring scrapbooks and diaries, see history through a unique lens, as these personal records offer details and perspectives often unavailable elsewhere. These documents preserve individual thoughts through an eclectic mix of original documents, handwritten journal entries, photos, and sketches from around the world.Exhibitions are open to walk-in visits Monday-Friday, 9:00am to 4:30pm. Exhibitions are free and open to the public.

Historic Press Room
The Press Room supports hands-on scholarship in all areas of book history as well as creative projects. We host classes, workshops, and tours throughout the year and welcome consultations on projects. Check out our upcoming events below or contact us to get started!

Internships and Practica
Cushing Library accepts student interns and practicum students year-round. Both Texas A&M students and students from other institutions are welcome; we welcome both undergraduate and graduate students. Internships and practica are unpaid, but course credit is assigned by the student’s department.

Institutions and units interested in borrowing Cushing Library collection materials for exhibition purposes should contact us at cushingreference@library.tamu.edu.
Loan periods will be finite and will be discussed on a case-by-case basis. Borrowing institutions and units are encouraged to discuss exhibition ideas early in the planning stages. The list of requested items should be finalized within the following timeframe:
- Requests for five or fewer items should be submitted for consideration six months before the exhibition’s planned opening date.
- Requests for more than five items need to be submitted for consideration one year before opening date.
Reasonable exceptions will be considered by the Director on a case-by-case basis.
