Biomedical Apps

Welcome to our Biomedical Apps resource page, where we provide you with information about mobile apps that help you access library resources on the go, including ebooks, journal articles, videos, multimedia content and point of care tools.

Accessing our biomedical apps

Access to library resources through apps usually requires an individual (personal) account. Steps will be similar for most databases.

  1. Go to the database through the library website.
  2. Authenticate with your NetID if prompted.
  3. Find and click the link to sign in/register/or create an account/profile. 
  4. Complete the registration form. 
  5. Install the app on your device.
  6. Log in and save your individual username and password on your device. 
  7. Databases may require you to periodically update/verify your account to confirm your continued association with Texas A&M. 
Mobile Apps
Access Provides access to more content from the Access Medical collections, including books, videos and other multimedia, review Q&As, images, infographics, diagnostic tools, and new personalization features. 
Browzine On your mobile device, easily find, read, and monitor thousands of scholarly journals available from your university or college library, or through Open Access publishers, covering all disciplines. 
CDC Mobile Apps A variety of apps with health content including dental, epidemiology, and field facts for first responders.
ClinicalKey Elsevier's ClinicalKey gives you access to quick answers at the point of care alongside trusted, comprehensive medical evidence. It includes clinical overviews, full-text books and journals, drug information, procedure videos, clinical calculators, patient education handouts, practice guidelines, and MEDLINE citations and abstracts. Physicians can earn and claim CME.
Clinical Pharmacology Provides comprehensive, current drug information. All Clinical Pharmacology content can also be accessed through the ClinicalKey app.
DynaMed Completely reimagined for today's clinicians, DynaMed combines the highest quality evidence-based information, expert guidance and a user-friendly, personalized experience to deliver accurate answers fast at the point of care. 
Lexidrug (formerly Lexicomp)

New instructions are available. Lexicomp app has changed to Lexidug.

Availability for the most popular tablets and smartphones, including iPad, iPhone, and Android devices. Code-based mobile access limited to College of Pharmacy 2nd-4th year. 

Merck Veterinary Manual Free app version of Merck Veterinary Manual (MVM) website.
Micromedex Drug database providing evidence-based clinical information at the point of care for medication, toxicology, and disease management. Information and instructions for mobile access are available once successfully connected to the Micromedex database. Must authenticate access to Micromedex to see mobile setup instructions.
mobilePDR Provides access to drug summaries. Requires free registration.
Nursing Reference Center Plus (instructions) Nursing Reference Center Plus is an evidence-based information resource designed specifically for nurses. With Nursing Reference Center Plus, you get all the content in Nursing Reference Center and much more including videos, image and new topics covering nursing management and leadership. Access Nursing Reference Center Plus
REMM Radiation Emergency Medical Management for radiological and nuclear emergencies.
STAT!Ref Provides access to ebooks and other resources including evidence-based clinical decision tools for health professionals.
uCentral uCentral, by Unbound Medicine, integrates clinical reference sources and journal access through either desktop or mobile access for evidence-based answers at the point of care.

VisualDX A web and mobile enabled visual clinical decision support system used to build a differential by selecting symptoms and other parameters. View descriptions of possible matches, critical alerts, and images to support selection of the best diagnosis.
