The Texas A&M University Libraries Open Access Awards recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to advancing the mission of open access scholarship. This $500 award celebrates efforts to make knowledge freely available, widely accessible, and reusable for the benefit of researchers, educators, and the public.
We welcome applications from faculty, staff, and students across disciplines whose work exemplifies the principles of open access. Eligible activities include, but are not limited to:

- Publishing open-access articles, books, or other scholarly outputs
- Creating and sharing open-access datasets or other research materials
- Serving as an editor or reviewer for open-access journals
- Advocating for open access policies and practices in classrooms, institutions, or disciplinary communities
Applicants are invited to describe how their work has contributed to open access, highlighting specific activities and any impact, innovation, or recognition they have received. We look forward to celebrating Texas A&M University’s contributions to building a more open, equitable, and collaborative scholarly ecosystem.
