Texas A&M University Business Librarian Wins Award

Jared Hoppenfeld, business librarian, has been awarded the BRASS Mergent Excellence in Business Librarianship Award, sponsored by Mergent, Inc. He is recognized for his continued support of business students, entrepreneurs and veterans, as well as his many published works on topics relevant to business librarians. His work titled “Information-Seeking Behaviors of Business Faculty” was the most-downloaded article of 2014 in the Journal of Business & Finance Librarianship.

The BRASS Mergent Excellence in Business Librarianship Award honors a librarian that has distinguished themselves in the field of Business Librarianship. The recipient’s contribution usually includes the development of a successful and imaginative program centered around business within a library, teaching business librarianship in a particularly creative manner, authoring a book or articles in business librarianship, the display of unusually strong leadership in a professional association geared to business librarianship, or other activities that encourage librarians to excel in business librarianship.
