The Texas A&M University Libraries is proud to host the inaugural SEC Academic Collaboration Award 2015 Workshop, February 6—8, 2015, on the Texas A&M campus in College Station, Texas. The Texas A&M Libraries has partnered with The Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC; www.sparc.arl.org) to organize the workshop.
The theme of our workshop is Developing Partnerships to Advance Open Access Initiatives at SEC Universities. Invited teams of student government and university libraries leaders will focus on developing their own institutional action plans focused on advancing open access (http://www.sparc.arl.org/issues/open-access) or the use of open educational resources (http://www.sparc.arl.org/issues/oer) at their campuses that draws upon the strengths of the library-student government partnership, meets the needs of the campus community, and is aligned with other initiatives on campus.
