General Description:

This faculty position provides a broad range of support for students, faculty, and researchers in the professional schools located on Texas A&M Health’s Houston campus. This position serves as liaison to the College of Medicine and has primary responsibilities for establishing and assessing library services in Houston.

General Duties:

  •  Establish medical library services for Texas A&M Health programs in Houston and serve as an embedded librarian liaison to the College of Medicine 
  • In conjunction with the Associate Director of Liaison & Client Services and the MSL Regional Services Coordinator, establish policies and procedures for the daily operations of the Houston location.
  • Provide proactive, client-centered information, education, and research services using a variety of methods and technologies for faculty, students, researchers and staff within the assigned program, and as needed, in support of other Medical Sciences Library clientele.
  • Work with other librarians within Liaison & Client Services to develop and assess library services and resources that are part of a holistic service plan.
  • Participate in collection development and collection assessment for both print and electronic resources.
  • Provide education support in other programs served by Medical Sciences Librarians as necessary and appropriate to fulfill instructional obligations to our clientele.
  • Participate in library-wide planning and evaluation activities.
  • Participate in scholarly activities and professional service commensurate with TAMU Libraries as required by track.
