Teaching with the Libraries
The University Libraries instruction sessions will be predominately virtual. Our librarians, curators, and instructional staff have increased course support through online class guides, tutorials, and asynchronous instruction methods. Schedule a virtual library instruction session, using our Library Instruction Request form, or contact your Subject Librarian The Libraries also have a variety of tutorials and research & class guides that you can embed in your class. Course Reserves provide online access to the Libraries' material curated for specific courses at the request of instructors. Print reserves will be unavailable for the spring 2021 semester. Consider using Open Education Resources (OERs) for your coursework. Embedding links correctly is important for remote access, accessibility, and honoring the Libraries' licensing agreements. The University Libraries endorses the findings of experts and supports that copyright law should permit copying portions of rights-protected works for emergency remote teaching. This guide outlines how to prudently apply fair use to copyrighted work including slides, audio, video, and course material. Access to The Studio is not available for students for the spring 2021 semester. Virtual consultations are available to students who need consultation assistance with multimedia projects and tools such as Camtasia, Garage Band, Audacity, and more. Online tutorials are available. The Studio is available by appointment only. Please see our FAQ for details.Library Instruction
