Sarah LeMire Receives LAUNCH Award

By Marketing and Communications | 05-07-2018

The Texas A&M University Libraries are proud to announce that Assistant Professor Sarah LeMire has been selected as a recipient for the 2018 Director’s Award for Outstanding Service to Honors Programs.

LeMire is being recognized for her collaboration with LAUNCH: Honors and the Honors Housing Community to coordinate information literacy instruction for first-year students and engaging the subject-matter library faculty in providing detailed feedback on students’ assignments.

She will be presented with an award at the LAUNCH Recognition Ceremony on Wednesday, May 9 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. in the MSC Bethancourt Ballroom.

LAUNCH provides high-impact educational experiences and challenges motivated students in all academic disciplines to graduate from an enriched, demanding curriculum. The programs administered by the office bring together outstanding students and faculty to build a community of knowledge-producers, life-long learners, nationally-recognized scholars, and world citizens.

Through LAUNCH, motivated students have access to Honors courses, co-curricular enrichment activities, and research programs that can be customized to enhance each student's personal, professional, and intellectual development.

Last year, Sarah was named a “Mover & Shaker” by the Library Journal for her advocacy of library services for student veterans.

LeMire earned a Master of Arts from the University of Utah in 2009 and a Master of Science in Information from the University of Michigan in 2012.

She has been at Texas A&M University since January 2015.
