University Libraries Enhance Online Collections and Provide Virtual Services to Help Learning on Campus

By Marketing and Communications | 04-07-2020

Even though our buildings are closed to public access, the University Libraries are still here to help Students, Faculty and Staff with all of their needs. Please visit our Virtual Services page for more information about how to connect with us.

The Libraries also remain dedicated to providing access to as many resources as possible for remote teaching and learning. Many of our resources have always been online and can be discovered on our website or through our Online Collections page.

With emergency support from the University, we have also made a significant purchase of additional materials that have deepened our already extensive backfiles of journal holdings in electronic format. In addition, we have worked with publishers who are willing to provide free access to relevant materials. You can find a complete list of these resources at our Teaching Support for Online Instruction.

We are also pleased to announce that the Libraries have been granted Emergency Temporary Access to HathiTrust. This means that any books available through HathiTrust which are also in the University Libraries’ collections will be available online without the additional step of requesting a digital scan. This is a very significant enhancement because HathiTrust’s online collection contains scanned images of over 40% of the books found in the Libraries’ physical collection which are not currently accessible due to our physical closures. More information and instructions about how to access the HathiTrust resources can be found on our Expanded Access page.

If you still have questions or still need help, please AskUs or contact your subject matter expert.
