Random Snacks of Kindness Fuel Finals Success

They started to wane. The same hands that held strong for hours on end, holding up sleepy studying heads, began to shake — barely resisting slipping away on the last of countless caffeine-fueled, finals-studying hours.

Then, a lifeline appeared!

It all started with the sound of a distant, squeaky wheel.

The squeak got louder and louder until it happened: the legendary “Random Snacks of Kindness” cart was right in front of them. The friendly wave of an Aggie librarian connected them to the free sugary and salty goodness.

The cart held a colorfully decorated bucket full of fruity snacks, chips, chocolate and drink packets — all destined for the hands of hungry and tired college students.

“I don’t know what to get,” a student said. “There’s so much to choose from.”

The tough decision was by design. The Libraries’ student engagement and outreach team continually designs programming like Random Snacks of Kindness, art, button making and pet therapy to destress students preparing for tough final exams.

Always looking to innovate, the engagement and outreach team regularly brainstorm new methods to fuel hard work.
