Data Management Plans
A Data Management Plan (DMP) is a formal document that outlines the data generated during a research project and describes how that data will be collected, organized, documented, stored, shared, and preserved throughout the research lifecycle.
Get Started with DMPs
DMP Guide — An overview of what a DMP is, its key elements, funder requirements, and best practices.
DMP Questionnaire — A set of guiding questions to help you establish data management procedures for your project, including the five core components required by most funding agencies.
DMPTool
The DMPTool is an online platform guiding DMP development according to the requirements of specific funding agencies. Texas A&M University researchers can log in with their NetID and passwords. Our DMPTool Instructions guide you through DMPTool step by step.
Data Repositories
Data repositories are tools for sharing and preserving research data. Publishing your data in a repository allows you to make your data discoverable and citable by other researchers.
The Texas Data Repository is an institutional platform that offers researchers, labs, and groups a flexible platform to publish, share, and preserve datasets while meeting funder and publisher requirements. Texas A&M University researchers can create an account with their NetID.
ResearchData@TAMU
ResearchData@TAMU is a catalog that aggregates and indexes research data created by Texas A&M researchers and stored in repositories around the world, increasing its discoverability for reuse, experimental reproducibility, and broader social impact.
Consultations
We offer one‑on‑one consultations to support you in developing effective data management practices, from planning and documentation to storage, sharing, and long-term preservation. You can book an initial consultation through our Book a Librarian service.
Workshops and Training
We offer regular workshops related to research data management. Workshops are open to all students, faculty, and staff at Texas A&M University.
