Study Carrels

Study Carrels, located in Evans Library, are specialized workspaces for faculty and graduate students engaged in scholarly research. Each carrel is shared by two individuals on a first-come, first-serve basis and is not intended for general office use. Faculty and graduate students must provide written documentation of their specific research needs to request a carrel. You can request a carrel at the AskUs desk in Evans Library.

Study Carrels are located on the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th floor of the Evans Library.

Graduate Lounge and Graduate Writing Room

The 6th Floor of the Evans Library includes two rooms dedicated for Graduate Students. The Graduate Lounge is a collaborative area with larger tables and whiteboards. The Graduate Writing Room is a quiet area with individual seating.

Medical Sciences Library

Graduate & Professional Student Zone (GPS)

The Graduate & Professional Student Zone (GPS) is located on the first floor of the Medical Sciences Library. GPS swipe access is managed using data from the Registrar and access is limited to those graduate students enrolled in degree programs (major degree) with colleges that provide funding for the Medical Sciences Library (CVM, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health), programs formerly served by MSL librarians (COALS, Kinesiology, and Athletic Training) and biomedical and biotechnology degrees.

The GPS Zone includes group and individual study rooms, OAL computers, and a variety of seating options including soft seating, bar height chairs, and task chairs. Study rooms are available on a first-come first-served basis and have whiteboards and OAL computers.

*Markers and erasers are available at the AskUs desk during staffed hours

The GPS Zone has 24/7 swipe access except on home game days and over the winter holiday. If your swipe access is not working, please ask for assistance from the MSL AskUs Desk during staffed hours.
